Elevator Pitch

Caritas is the largest welfare association in Germany and the provider of numerous social institutions and services. Many charitable projects and services are only possible with financial support from government or private sources.

However, it is often not easy to find suitable funding instruments and it is not uncommon for the application to fail due to the time-consuming research process. Statistics show: The potential of project funding is not nearly being exhausted.

In my bachelor thesis I developed a web portal that assists Caritas employees  in the search for suitable funding opportunities. The service offers intuitive usability, individual and comprehensive filter options and displays the information in an easily accessible way.

The service was developed in an iterative design process: from rapid paper prototyping and wireframes to an interactive high-fidelity prototype.

Based on the insights of the desk and user research a list of requirements and functions were defined and clustered in a card sorting process.

Various solution approaches were visualized with scribbles and advanced in collaboration with the employees.

After the user test of the paper prototype and further adjustments, wireframes were created in Figma.

In the last iteration loop an interactive and animated high-fidelity prototype was designed in Figma.
